I sincerely appreciate you joining the Sashiko Japan Tour. In this series of Blog Posts, I would like to share many personal stories explaining the reasons why we offer the tour to Japan, to join a series of Sashiko Workshops.
The goal of this Sashiko Japan Tour that I set is to bring you the best Sashiko Experience in Japan. Your fun is always the priority throughout the time we spend together. At the same time, to maximize your experience & understanding of the Sashiko we practice, I would try my best to share many personal stories.
In 2023, after 10 years of not stepping onto my own country (Japan), I led a group of Sashiko practitioners to Japan. It is the prototype of the Sashiko Japan Tour. It was a series of many miracles. To be honest, I didn't expect that I would see so many smiles from my mother, or even myself. With sincere appreciation to the Tour 2023, I will do my best to recreate the same experience we offered.
There are reasons I live in the United States, although I was "born" in a Sashiko Family where they tried to preserve their tradition of Sashiko. In a natural flow, I should be living in Japan - but I am not.
There are reasons I do not go back to Japan by myself. There are reasons I do not define Sashiko so easily. There are Stories for what I do & Why I do - that includes embarrassment and shame/guilt feeling.
In this series of Blog Post, I want to share as much information/past/story as I can so that we can fully maximize the time in Japan.
I am looking forward spending time with you.
